Measuring at 1,051m above sea leve, Mt. Gari mesmerizes visitors with the open field of vision and the scenery of Lake Soyang that can be seen from the top of the mountain. Also, there is a small rock spring that springs out from the rocks just below the southern crest of the 1st peak which flows for 400 ri into the Hongcheon River and quenches the thirst of mountain climbers. It is quite a distinctive source of pride of Mt. Gari.The sound of the small waterfall located at the foot of the mountain warms people's hearts, and the mountin climbing begins here, along the creeks and mountain ridges. Also, Saemjae village, which can be seen from the top of Mt. Gari, is where the winning tickets for the first and second highest lottery jackpots were sold only weeks apart to make the are famous as a land of good fortune. Hongcheon-gun cultivated this area into a natural recreation forest area and the Mt. Gari’s natural recreation forest was opened in July, 1995. This recreation forest is now famous as a family recreation center with it's oak cabins, camping areas and sports facilities.
