The different colors of the 5 petals of the Mugunghwa represent different things; the unique blue represents the spirit of the county people. Green represents the unpolluted natural environment. Scarlet represents the unified passion of the people. Yellow represents peace, and red represents the nobility of the county people.

The stamen at the center is like a tower, representing the the people coming together, collecting the will of the region and people in one place. The green at the bottom (waterdrop) represents the rich and clean land.

It is best to draw the symbol in full color but you may refer to the examples of single color usages and draw the symbol in Hongcheon light green, gray, white, gold, silver or gold leaf, according to the applied medium. Also, there may be cases when the use of certain colors must be prohibited according to the color of the background, as seen in the example. Regardless of the background color, except in the case of a white background, the part where the highlight of the waterdrop overlaps with the leaf at the bottom of the flag must be colored white.
