Yongoreum Village in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, is a clean area in the upper stream of Hwayanggang River that is 35km away from the Seat of Gun Office. The village has a beautiful, natural landscape and the villagers are generous and affectionate. The local specialty foods are waxy corn and steamed corn buns, which are popular and recognized throughout the country. In addition, oyster mushrooms that have been long produced through a cooperative unit, golden oak mushrooms grown in the mountains, 6-year-old ginseng grown in the center of the earth at high altitude as the production started not so long ago, Acer okamotoanum sap, omija, amur grapes, and Okseonju are other local specialties.
As for scenic spots and places of historic interest, there is Seobongsa Temple, whose outstanding surrounding view attracts a big crowd of travelers in summer, Musical Instrument Museum, and Sansagol Valley. Yongoreum Village boasts its unique and clean natural environment including Yongoreum Falls of Seobongsa Valley and Amisan Mountain. It is a great Farming Experience Village where you can enjoy natural landscape and recreational tourism.
