Scenic View #7: Yongso Valley

Yongso Valley

The Yongso valley is a 10km long valley that begins at Gwangam-ri, Naechon-myeon which passes through Gweseok-ri, Duchon-myeon reaching all the way to Cheonhyeon-ri and it is full of clear water and fantastic rocks are laid in harmony. With thick forests, occasional swamps and rocks that come together to create sceneries of unmatchable beauty, the Yongso valley is a valley as beautiful as those of the Seorak mountains. In the spring the royal azalea join together with the reeds, crimson foliage in the fall and the valley cools you off in the summer. The site of the old Buddhist temple and the 3 story stone temple still remains here, and legend has it that a tiger showed up when they tried to move the 3 story stone temple making the people unable to move it. The Yongso valley is great as a family climbing or vacationing course, and is suitable for a one day trip into the mountains.
