Miyakgol Valley

Miyak gulley is a beautiful place surrounded by tall mountains and deep valleys. A geomancer passing through this area once said that this was a propitious area where people with high ranks would be born. Crying of cranes, the candlestick boulder stands beautifully and other boulders such as the rocky waterfall where fairies came to bathe form exceptional scenery. This is why this area was named Mi-am-dong, or Miyak gulley. It is a treasure house for the natural ecosystem of a primeval forest and the source of the Hongcheon River where clean and pure spring water gushes out and flows for 400 ri into the Bukhan River and Cheongpyeong dam.
