Hongcheon beef, Neulpureum To produce the high quality meat of Hongcheon Korean beef "Neulpureum" we take the sperm of pure bred male Korean cows in the Korean cow amelioration complex located in the pure areas of Hongcheon to carry out artificial insemination. We take the calves born in this way, sterilize them and fatten them for over a long period time of at least 20 months (at least 25 months old) using stock feed fermented with alcohol which was developed by Hongcheon-gun and Gangwon University in an academic-industrial cooperation program for the first time in the nation. The name Hongcheon Neulpureum beef is only applied to beef of the highest quality and the beef from cows which are bred according to the "Neulpureum" program and receive 1st grade(A1+,A1,B1+,B1) assessments. Therefore the Neulpureum beef is "Korean beef of the highest quality" which is even better than normal Korean beef. Hongcheon Neulpureum Korean beef is one of the 5 special products of Hongcheon-gun.
