World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, depending on the upgrader you choose and the type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting to queue for dungeons and raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). The average level of the item can be found in the character sheet.

Using the Best item upgrade level can help players compare the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a sign of the item's damage and quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock is possible using the level of the item.

The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula that calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

This isn't the only thing that affects the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can alter its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to a single weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded once and items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.

Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.

All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other methods of rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item to specific stats, or reroll the affixes. The possible stat ranges of an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it is a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of those properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is more beneficial in the early game, since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances, which increase with each level of the item. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are costly and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This could block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
