11 "Faux Pas" That Are Actually Okay To Make With Your Robot…
본문

Now is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top-rated models will be available for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%..

1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most Intelligent Vacuum Cleaner robot vacuum to date. Its greatest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's also the first to automatically send you photos of an object it encounters to let you know to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient best inexpensive robot vacuum mop we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills quickly and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't want. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.
The design is also more appealing than the other models. It has a sleek, top piece that looks like toys rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System is also self-emptying which will reduce your cleaning time.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering all over the floor. It even was able to take small gravel and sand, which most other robots can't. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.
Although it's not as efficient as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the J7+ is a solid option for those who need mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to know whether the update actually working until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean your floors, a hybrid is the best self cleaning robot vacuum choice. These robots come with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also come with a variety of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. The downside is that they can be expensive when purchased at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model. While it lacks some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like table legs and walls, which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality do not excel in. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.
The Q5+, just like other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. With the app you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map, or change the labels of rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also comes with an impressive LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't required for everyone, but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the best cheap robot vacuum in the industry, but it's expensive.
The base station is attractive and is easily hidden when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots have to leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovacs that I've tested that do a really good job of picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the house. It's not able climb stairs as well as competitors, for instance, and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.
While it doesn't offer the same amount of cleaning configuration options in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the higher price tag.
If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example, is cheaper and has more features, such as the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.
4. Eufy RoboVac g30
eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot broom vacuums that have the right balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpeted flooring, and mopping capabilities for a low cost. It's simple to set up, just attach one of the side brushes and turn it on, then connect your charging dock. The app takes you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock near an electrical outlet and ample space to allow it to move around however.
The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is more subtle when compared to rival models. It has a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The most important feature that sets the G30 above the rest is the way it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. When it's time to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it started.
The eufy G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, offers the same battery life and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries that keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is, on the other hand, is more affordable and much easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating bulky material like cereal.
