WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with the help of button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they only have one use. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
