World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved following a reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is Best item upgrade to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, with a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). The item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

Each item level upgrade can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance, attack damage, or other effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade item an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different upgrade items ingredients.
